Scripts v.197 Engine v.94, Ped arenas, AI, and other stuff

* Decals are now downloaded before loading into an event, which should stop the annoying crashes when the delayed application of a decal happens after the event has started
* Some excellent vehicle re-skins from Aciercolotl (thanks mate!) ? look out for the Alpha, Sonic,  Symphony
* Proper pedestrian AI is finally here! (as opposed to just running away and not shooting). I have put a lot of work in to this, to include decision-making, searching for cover to snipe from, running for arena or town escape points, hiding in cover while reloading, etc.
* Ped arena combats are now available. These are 180 moves long instead of 120. Variants: team-based, no-teams, and paintball. I?ll be adding ped arena leagues soon, but until then they?re available as professional and custom events. Points are scored for hitting pedestrians with activity level > 0
* If you forget to bring a hand weapon to a pedestrian arena combat, you get loaned a random one (but no spare ammo).
* In paintball combats, any weapons you have will be replaced with a harmless paint rifle. When someone is hit by a paint rifle in a paintball event, they get exited from the game immediately

There's currently a bug that's causing a lot of crashes in ped paintball events, but I think I have it tracked down. Will need an engine patch, unfortunately.

Thanks for the kind sentiments, but I can't take credit for the Symphony. I believe that one was viKKing's good work.

I have every intention of doing more (there's a few in the works and one pending), but I'll take requests based on frequency as well.

Again, thanks.

is there anything the rest of us can do to help with new skins? photoshoppy stuff as opposed to hard code for the less technical among us? tracking down existing models? anything?

also how can you get the skins for your own cars?

peds need a hotkey to cycle through (seperate from cars).

Peds still getting hurt running into each other at least in paintball events.

Look in: \darkwind\darkwind\data\shapes\vehicles\

You can edit the images to re-skin them.

I have a half-finished buzzer and windsor skin in the works which this reminds/motivates me to finish.

I like the new skins, except for the slits in the Symphs windows, it really needed the new damaged dexture though.

Oh, when you are working on the hotkeys you could also correct the hotkeys that dont switch correctly between cars, when youve moved the cam! Would be so amazing to have this fixed, Sam! =)

Can you remind me what goes wrong Zothen? The camera moves to the wrong place?

if you tap them too fast, the cam travels soo far, and you're lost somewhere

I posted it weeks ago, but the search didnt come up...

When you move the cam away from a car and you use the hotkey to switch through your cars you have the same "offset" to the following cars than you had to the first car when you moved the cam.
That makes it quite impossible to switch through cars via hotkey, cos sooner or later the "offset" is so much that you dont have the car youve switched to on your screen. (You also can get lost on the map without a chance to find your cars again!)
Curiously it seems to disappear after a round has ended until youve moved your cam again. 100% reproducable.
It seems that the hotkey remembers the relative position you had to the current car before you switch to the next. But the cam needs the absolut position of the car thats switched to.

Sam, cos Ive noticed that some bug reports slip past your attention I still suggest to use a bugtracker like Bugzilla!

aciercototl and Vikking very nice skins by the way.

Is there a way we could help designing maps ? I would like to see more combat arenas but know there is a million things on the "to do" list. Is there some kind of open source map maker or anything ?
