Website date and time display

Sam, a few suggestion for the date and time display on the webpage, for another one of those rainy days where there is not enough to code:

1. An option to display any time designations (squad returns, repair times, the website clock in the upper right hand corner, event times) according to our choosen time zone.

I will admit that this solution does create some problems when players from different time zones discuss time notations in the game. Perhaps we could have both our local time and the server time displayed, just like in the events diary, as another toggleable option.

2. An option to display all time notations on the website according to Evan time. The clock would run four times as fast, repair times would be four times as long, etc. Everything according to AET (Arbitrary Evan Time). This is mostly a fun bonus for the roleplaying nerd in us all (I'm not the only one, am I? :o ), but would also help players from different time zones coordinate their immoral actions.

The absolutely best way to handle this would be to allow us two time displays whenever time is an issue. One default, and the other one in brackets. In this way, we could display both server (GMT) times and our local time zone, our local time and Evan Time, and even server time and Evan Time, for those who like to use a good idea for meaningless and thoughtless purposes...

A very quick fix, and code free solution: only speak in Server Time (GMT)...

Actually, that is a part of the problem, not the solution. That is what we always do when coordinating events.

This suggestion was not aimed at countering coordinating problems, but at extending the webpage clock and displayed times. Partly for flavour (Evan Time), but mostly to make it more convenient for players to sync their local times with webpage times.

Look at the bottom right of your screen. It says your time there.(at least in Windows)

Sam, was this thread lost among all the silly (and unwelcome) banter in it, or did it catch your eye, only if for a short moment? ;)

I did see it, ye thanks :)
I have fallen behind in replying to some of the recent suggestions.. things have been very busy.
I like idea (1) but maybe not idea (2) as this could lead to confusion.,

The first suggestion alone would make me very happy ;)

Any change that shows the same times on the website as in the lobby (or vice versa) would be an improvement.
