US player travelling in the UK. From England, I get constant server disconnects. Can go several turns just fine, then the client will freeze (not hang) and about a minute later I'll see that the server timed me out due to a disconnect, then the event will continue. Sometimes I can go an entire event with it only happening once or twice. Others, it's nearly every other turn.
I do speed tests when this happens: no issues. Also no issues with VPNing into my employer's network, RDP, streaming, etc. Only in DW am I seeing these connection interruptions. Since I'm a US player, is it having to go there and back? (Around the world to cross the street?) Does my US Steam client need some tweaking? I assumed due to the server date/time that it's here in the UK? Seems like my connection would be better not worse. |

If I "ping darkwind.com", I get:
"tracert darkwind.com" shows a loop:
Even if I extend the hop limit with "ping darkwind.com -i 100", I get:
So, looks like a route loop between quadranet.com and ntt.net. Nothing I can control. |

Ignore all that. I apparently suck at troubleshooting. First, up there I was testing against "darkwind.com", not "dark-wind.com". Second, I have an adaptive wireless adapter and when I thought I was testing the 2.4 band, it was switching over to 5 anyway. Once I forced it to 2.4, the problem went away.
