Wasn't sure if Player run services or Ladders and Leagues was the proper home for this. So moderator, please feel free to move it, but I made my best guess.

THE ULTIMATE PHIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP has come to Evan! The UPHC!

We will be conducting a tournament soon to crown the initial champion. Tournament format and rules to follow soon. In the meantime, get yourself ready, find the perfect car, the perfect weapon combo, and get some practice in.

DA RULES:

1) Each fighter use a single Phoenix outfitted in anyway they see fit given the following guidelines.
......a) Car must contain at least two people so that you can drive the defeated phoenix home.
......b) Car is allowed a maximum rear armor of 10. This is to prevent the run and hide style of play. These fights are to be face to face dogfighting and awesome action all the way.

2) Fights take place in the wild, and the luck of draw is certainly a factor. Matches begin on the first turn regardless of how the vehicles spawn.

3) The winner is determined by one player tapping out (verbally calling an end to the fight) or by K.O. (resigning). In some weird case where both drivers run out of ammo, and ped weapons are exhausted, and both engines are broken so no ramming can be done, then you both lose. Pretend the fight never happened because nobody wants to see such a pitiful display.

4) The winner is REQUIRED to drive the losing vehicle home and sell it back to the loser for a price of 10,000. This is how the winner gets paid for repairs and prize money. If the losing vehicle does not survive the fight, no prize money.

5) The champion trophy exception. I am working on getting a special skin Phoenix to be the champion trophy. The current champion MUST use this car in battle. If he loses, the winner gets to keep the car, as he is the new champion. The 10,000 fee is to be generated by selling the former champion a different phoenix.

Rules for the special people who like to mess things up for everyone else.
1) anybody who does something that mucks up the fun will not be considered a part of the league and all their accomplishments will be ignored. I will have back up PHOs with the champion skin in case some tool tries to hoard it.

2) Fight fair, fight close. Running away might be a good play to gain some advantage, but running away for several turns will be a disqualifying tactic. Hopefully everyone understand this is dog fighting. Running and gunning or running and hiding is NOT ULTIMATE! The recordings will be used to make decisions.

PLEASE POST RECORDINGS IN THIS THREAD FOR ALL TO SEE.

THE NUTS AND BOLTS:

1. Find an opponent
2. Both of you form a squad
3. Share the squad I.D. number with each other.
4. In the scouting interface, use the button to challenge another squad.
4a. For those without the PVP flag on, you can set up a custom Death Rally for pink slips. (sadly, no training gains for this I believe)

Good luck and have fun.

Celeris beat me up pretty good.

Grel and me. I tried little engine big guns. Exposing an inherit weakness with my game idea.

Turns out, this isn't all that fun the way it is designed. Ideas to improve it.

Grelin suggest using a light weapon on the side. I wonder if we went light machine guns, car shotguns, or normal flamers only. still some variety, different ranges, but nobody is tearing through armor in a single turn.

Does anyone else have comments?

One thing that I did when I ran events (many moons ago) was have a skill cap level on the gangers - it helped to level the events out between the old and new players.

Experience still makes a difference but not have gang members with super number of specs helps to make things more even.

I do like the idea of using a fixed chassis, maybe a fixed max cost of the build - a bit like the old Car Wars divisions?

Car rifles would be another option if you wanted to limit recoil-locking. 2v2 could also make for more interesting fights--more incentive to keep moving rather than just sticking into someone's side.
