At our last camp wars meeting (nearly a month ago) it was agreed to add auto-wins, so I'll implement that today.
Auto-win will kick in if the CR ratio is 5-to-1 or greater in favor of one side. The rule will apply 48 hours before the combat*, after the defender's late deployment option has elapsed. * clarification on late deployment: it has to be set at least 48 hours before the combat, and only during week 2 of the cycle. I.e. late deployment is only possible during week 2 (battle week) and not during week 1 (deployment week). |

this is just CR not like if you wait till last 4 hours to set a squad?
darthspanky Posted Jul 27, 2020, 3:57 am |
i can see this being abused, whose to say they can even get enouph members to join the higher cr squad or even show up, just throw out big numbers of cr, dont worry about having the cars or gangers to fully use that cr lets just auto win, and who are these players in these meetings making these desisions, and what if the battle is on someones camp itself, guess auto looting is next. so glad im out of this kinda crap.
Joel Autobaun Posted Jul 27, 2020, 5:57 am |
Gotta agree with camp - we did agree that would be exempt I think? |

rockinrams Posted Jul 27, 2020, 7:49 am |
I can see lorry gunboats with one ganger for auto win abusing
*goat starer* Posted Jul 27, 2020, 8:23 am |
that was certainly my understanding. |
||||
darthspanky Posted Jul 27, 2020, 8:41 am |
players can still concede, and get penalized if they dont vs overwhelming odds anyway, just not sure why we need this. what if someone deploted 5000cr and could only use 750 and nobody else showed up to put cars in that 5000 cr squad, they would still get the auto win, when they could have been beaten.

with the number of events a long border can create it is needed to stop people spamming enemy camps with low CR events at anti social hours that the defender is forces to show up at. It is already the case that the number of 'real' events will kill off participation because i cant commit the time to this that is needed and i don't think anyone else with any kind of external life can either. I think it is needed... but there needs to be consideration of the possible exploits and anomalies it may throw up. |

Yes, camp home tiles are exempt. |
||||
*sam* Posted Jul 27, 2020, 9:31 am |
Correct. Its nothing to do with the squads. |
||||
*sam* Posted Jul 27, 2020, 9:35 am |
You clearly don't understand the system, then. |
||||

It's about logistics: not forcing people to play numerous pointless combats. AFAIK no battle has yet been won by the smaller side with even 2:1, let alone 5:1 odds. Game design is often about balancing complex competing factors, and there isn't always a perfect solution. It's about prioritising what's most important. |

darthspanky Posted Jul 27, 2020, 11:53 am |
ok i just wanted to make a point, sometimes some players look for loopholes, hope it doesnt go like that tho.
rockinrams Posted Jul 27, 2020, 5:30 pm |
even though im not in the camp wars and dont have to deal with this stuff, when it comes to the extra money people can get from factories giving random damaged weapons every so often and hauling it to a northern triangle town, where said weapon (say its a HFT) is hard to get and make a good amount of money that can then go to normal town events like rallies (or the more obvious, to there camp/s) |

Risk vs Reward. And FWIW, many of the perks are pretty rare. I am 0 for 5 in trying to recruit with perks in several different camps, and only know of one success in all of Evan so far (Grimm with courage) |
||||
Joel Autobaun Posted Jul 28, 2020, 4:14 pm |
Yup so far tile perks are worthless imo.
The biggest thing is probably not having to fight stupid npc battles. Even if i wasnt playing the hex game... id want to be open for that. Camp wars *can sometimes* be fun though. Good enemies are hard to find. It is ironic...those of us who are *fighting* camp wars dont have time to cash in on the spoils as much as those who *play* but dont fight. Dont care all that much but i think if sam still works on the game after this camp wars priority #1 is fixing dw commodities system. |

*goat starer* Posted Jul 28, 2020, 7:20 pm |
ain't that the truth. just the logistics and management of teams for events takes up all my playing time. I have become an overworked middle manager and the only time we actually won anything I got a 3% machine gun. |

darthspanky Posted Jul 28, 2020, 7:33 pm |
i managed to loot 3 cp and before camp close i made 25k stone whoo hoo, then the beam out rules changed after loosing my leader lmao.
*Longo* Posted Jul 28, 2020, 7:43 pm |
Well, on the bright side, we can now refer to this function as the "Kirk" rule. Its almost Star Trekish |

darthspanky Posted Jul 28, 2020, 8:00 pm |
you could always ship that feul all the way to ss then you would be mr big bucks lol
*goat starer* Posted Jul 28, 2020, 9:27 pm |
