I was under the impression that the best scout is the only scout to ever get any training.
Ive got a squad with a capped 127* and a 72.. the 72 has gained 5 points this trip. This goes outside what I thought was right. Anyone know something of this? |

What vehicles were they in. Vehicle can modify scouting skill so that a lower skilled scout has the higher effective skill.

the 127 in a voy
the 72 in a Landy If thats the reason, thats very interesting and I might use a landy rather than a muscle car for my scout. |

It could very well be that since the capped guy can't gain skill, they are giving it to the next highest scout skill
Whether or not its using the 127 as the modifier is the real question |

wiki and a search of old threads makes it clear that vehicle affects a scout's effectiveness.
I can't seem to find any threads where somebody did any extensive tests between chassis to assess scouting effectiveness. Sam has stated in the past that Buggys have the highest bonus. I think they were followed by Dustups. I remember Landys being really good, but don't remember how they compared versus muscle cars. I don't really consider Voys a muscle car; I don't think the game does either. |

vehicles aside, I have also noticed what he is talking about where the 2nd highest scout gets the gains, and mine wasn't capped

yeah. I was only getting 1 to 1 odds, SS to BL, escorting 3 traders. Only one spawn scared me, and was still better than I would normally get for the road (using a 300+ in a buzzer, which is stated to be poor for scouting) How much is the vehicle itself modifying the rolls of both? The sedan could be very poor(which you're right *above*. I think of voys as muscle) 50% modifier, the Landrunner very good 150%. or .. .something. Could even be 75 and 125 I guess, if my quick math is roughly right. Interesting. I never thought it was THAT great a difference. |

I always thought the scouting modifier was inversely correllated to chassis bulk?

i'm not sure its quite that linear... i thought dustys and buggys got a much larger boost to scouting skill.

Thats why this was all a little surprising |
