Open up the game for non-premium players?

Hey there, I've first played this game a few years ago when it first launched on Steam and loved it! There's truly no other game out there that offers this kind of gameplay.

That said though now that I look back and want to start playing again I see the game population has declined much, and only veteran players remain. Understandably, they all have premium and could enjoy the game to its full extent.

I'm wondering now that Darkwind is in a dormant stage (seeing there's very little chance of new updates), would the dev consider giving all accounts premium? I personally have a few cars stuck in Badlands and Firelight from my premium days and could not get them back (no gangers left in there). Also, I can't participate in player-run camps either.

I would love to go down south again or at the very least retrieve my cars.

Thanks for the consideration.

Doubtful, it costs money to run the server that the game runs on.

All you need to do is have a player transport some of your gang to the towns you want to revisit. Once there, you can participate in town events as well as scout. Only restriction is travel and that need to be done as a premium player. Or better yet, resubscribe and have full access. Cost for premium is still very reasonable.

Sam once considered the option of paying for Subs with Chrome (2 or 3 years back) but I would venture to guess that since this did not materialize it must not have been a viable option.

X is right though. While many of us no longer have the time to devote to the game anymore, the cost of a subscription is still less than you would pay for many other online games.
