Darkwind
"Preferred Team" for non-league events - "Forced Random"

The player base is small enough that this shouldn't matter, and yet it does. Could we get a "Forced Random" option in the dropdown? If any player registered for the event has this selected, all player preferences would be ignored and the teams would be seeded randomly.

What specific non league events are you referring to?

Combat events, being the only ones with teams. A group of players could essentially shut out solo players from those events by selecting the same team together - it will almost always place the solo on the opposing team.

If you are referring to selecting red team blue team, yes, that is possible. Does it or will it actually happen? Probably less than 1% of the time.

Years back when there were groups on opposing sides, there were always match ups that would happen that way. Thats where the true fun of PVP would come into play.

For DW friends, it meant a chance for co-op play similar to scouting. Or a chance to help a player advance in league standings.

All this boils down to the in game, cut throat style of a player's existence in the post apocalyptic world run by the death race mafia. Shoot or be shot, red or be redded.

If a solo player has reservations about being in an event where they feel threatened by a another group, most will just wait and join a later event where the field has more reputable and honorable players.

I can't really lay that out in a better way to help you read it.

This would be less of an issue if the AI didn't have a habit of driving into objects and sitting there for twenty turns or more while being shot.

So your issue is that its an unfair disadvantage being a solo player stuck on a team of AI who cant fight in the same manner that you would?

While at the same time I'm competing with them in scoring for rewards, I'd also like them to not utterly fail and hand the bonus for winning to the other team, yes. FFA combat events would solve this. Having Amateur Night Combat level rewards in races and deathraces would as well.

The AI and how they play/Attack is not going to improve. Learning their tendencies and faults is important to survival. Also, red team's AI is not any better than blue team's AI. Your biggest AI concern is your rep with a gang. If you hated, that gang will come after you, even after you resign to seek revenge.

Combat events, as well as any other team event, the winning team does receive a point bonus. But that does not guarantee a winning teams player 1st place in the standings. So if you are a solo player against a team with multiple players, you can still win based on points, not team win.

As a solo player, you have more targets to shoot at. The multi player team will have half the amount providing both players are taking down their targets. So there is a slight benefit playing solo. The downside is you will have less time to hit your targets due to the multi player team hitting twice the targets. Higher ganger skills will always sway victory regardless of player teams.

I see your concern on, but highly doubtful that any changes will be made more less be needed in this scenario. My best advice is to actively ask other players on the client to help and join you in the event. If you have any issues in the future, you can always PM me directly as well and include your event ID.

Amatuer Night Combats are designed to help new players earn a vehicle without having to pay for one. This is also a valuable event when playing in Scav mode where money does not exist.

If you are wanting vehicles as prizes, this already exists in league events. Go to the events diary to see the list of leagues. Click on one and you can see what the prizes are. They range from vehicles, weapons and engines.

But if you are wanting a one event race for a vehicle, you would need to create your own event where players can join and you race for pink slips.

Always remember, we may have a small player base, but they are friendly and helpful, especially to new players. So don't hesitate to ask questions or for help while you are on the client.
