Darkwind
SCL points for no-show

I sat staring at the screen for 15 minutes on Sunday afternoon waiting for my SCL opponent to turn up.
He didn't, but I thought- oh well- I was looking forward to that all afternoon but hey- at least it's easy points!
When I checked the league- he had gained a point from it!!!!!!

That point could be crucial come the end of the season.

Why do heck you get a point for not showing up and inconveniencing another player??????

Don't seem right to me.

ADDITIONAL:

I did speak to the player later, and he told me that he couldn't make it and forgot about it- which is fair enough- we all have other things to do in life other than DW (more's the pity)

AND- we was fined $42,000 for the no show.

But even so- he shouldn't get a point from it surely?

The last thing this game needs is to be rewarding ppl for NOT playing. The exact opposite is what's needed in a big way now!

I agree

The only way to get zero points is to not even set a squad - I can set a junker with a noob in it and score a point and have to pay a 'bounty'

Definitely open to exploitation
(NOT suggesting that's what happened in this case tho)

Agree +1
Just in case someone is counting, even though I doubt it.

Paying a bounty is one thing to offset a no-show. But most players have the money to afford these bounties. The other deterrent is the fame hit at your camp. Sometimes this is a big factor why you should always show up for your matches or don't set a squad. So there are things set in place to balance. Whether or not you guys feel this an equal or fair trade-off can be put up for debate.

Fair enough X- but leagues are won and lost on points in the end.
You shouldn't score points for not taking part- simple as that in my opinion.

... and fame can be recovered by a couple of camp scouting events - which we would likely do anyway

True, but now you have to scout to recover the fame loss. Also, the MR and Production boosts take a hit too and those cannot be brought back up by scouting. (This affects the PVP Open Camps).

I am not debating against your point. I do agree with you on it. Just making sure everyone is aware of what happens when a player/team no-shows.

Actually, most Football (Soccer to the heathens) leagues are won by drawing more than others lose. Leicester City gloriously proved this just a few weeks ago :-)

But both teams showed up to play.
