SAM - "Hey, I just noticed that DW has 39% positive reviews on Steam, which means it's listed as "mostly negative feedback". At 40% this changes to "mixed" which would presumably look much better to anyone browsing onto the DW Steam page.
So, if anyone who hasn't already voted for DW on Steam could do so, it'd be much appreciated :-) thanks.. here's the Steam page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/295710\" My first post stated that Sam tells those he does not care about that he has no time/money/will to develop DW but when the exalted few he likes complain, bam patch time. It stated that Sam wants players exploit the Steam review system for his game, LMAO. So you deleted my original forum post after you didn't like it, right Sam. This is what you players that don't hug Sam nuts can expect from a guy who only cares what his friends in game think. Not only am I gonna let everyone on Steam know what kind of pathetic developer your are, it will be my mission to show everyone who plays how small minded & vindictive you are. I am certain you will delete this one and likely abuse my paid forum access also, pathetic. I will now continuously update Steam reviews to show your childish attempts to bully me and others who PAY to play your game. |

My angst has been misdirected, sadly.
Sam did not lock & delete my post, ty Sam. But one of his lacky marshals did it. He does not play but decided out of the blue my postings are flame worthy LMAO or was it a veiled attempt at marshal bullying again. I will hold my Steam crusade and see what Sam actually says about this. |

When a marshal locks a thread and you persist in creating threads about the same thing, this is where they go. If you want to have a discussion with Sam, feel free to PM him. | ||

Just a pointer for you.. childishly ranting and threatening me with a 'Steam Crusade' against the game is not a good way to get me to listen to you. |

While I don't agree with Hexgrid's approach, I do see what he is trying to say.
My eyebrow raised a bit when I read the announcement too. Nothing wrong with asking players to write an "honest" review for steam, but the announcement "implied" positive reviews were requested due to the mention of it's current ranking in the negative area. Perspective is everything and could easily be taken the wrong way, though I'm sure it was not intended. |

That's nice LF, so you thought...
"As much as I would love to lie my azz off for you, I will not exploit Steam review mechanics to help you tweak your game for your personal friends in game. " after reading Sam's requests for reviews too? Where did you see Sam ask for people to lie exactly? Of course he would rather they were postiive reviews - duh. Are you sure you are not Hex's lackey or alt? See you on the road. |

The problem is, a lot of players try to use the power of social feedback mechanisms to blackmail and bully game developers. It's most noticeable on Google Play and the iOS appstore, where you'll see a lot of 'reviews' from players stating that they gave 1 out of 5 due to X and that the developer needs to change X and then they will improve the review. Self-entitled little ####s. This is exactly what Hex tried to do with his 'Steam crusade'. You should also know that this all goes back to me removing a Rep-related exploit that was allowing people to travel across the entire game map without encounters. A few players have taken great exception to me removing this "feature". In terms of me politely asking for reviews... this is exactly what *most* game developers do. Again, given the appstores example, I'm sure you have seen that lots of apps/games nag the user to rate them. In fact many of them do it in quite an underhanded way by presenting an in-app feedback box that's not really linked to the appstore at all, and if the player chooses 5 out of 5 then and only then are they directed to the real appstore. |
