Hello all,
I've been playing scav for a bit. I've managed to accumulate some decent vehicles and crew, all sub 50's at the moment. I have only led a few scouts. Tried to pull solo scouts which failed miserably, and tend to go on scouts led by other players. I'm having a problem getting any mech or sct skill. Is this because I'm not leading my own scouts? From an earlier thread that I read, is the optimum solo scout vehicle a pho with 4L with a rear gun so I can run from anything that doesn't spawn my way? |

I think th optimum is a pair of 4l phos with twin mGs front.
Hunt traders... Run away if it's too tough... Only take e trader vehicles on if you get good odds. Two cars means more characters skilling up and you will need the,. |

Solo scouting is best with a pair of cars. I prefer 3.
Reason being: in SS you will always pull 2 to 3 enemy no matter how low your CR is. IMO its best to be even odds car for car especially in Scav where they will have a quality advantage and no "im out of ammo" issues to deal with when choosing what guns to use. Personally I would advise against solo scouting until you have a 35 or better scout (50 is desirable) The best way to get that skill up for scouting is drive ailmessly back and forth to Elmsfield. you will gain 3 to 5 points per round trip. Scout skill doesnt increase much from scouting. I get maybe 1 point for 7 to 8 solo scouts. But you will need a fuel tank resize. Boonwolf or myself or Goat can probably help you there. |

I am also getting back into SCAV in the next couple of days, and have 100+ mech who can do fuel tank resizes, repair B armour etc |

Thank you for the info. One question about travelling though. Do I need a fast vehicle for Elms to SS? I thought slavers will still hit you. I have several cans of fuel collecting dust, and I think a truck with a 10 gas tank

A fast car helps always unless you taking escorts

Can you have Psi in Scav? The only way I know that you up this is by training in FL. And since there is no training...

Goat would know, but if you were able to hire a character with PSI, it would be as useful as hiring a character with Cyclist. Neither one is gonna help you in scav.

I don't believe in magic

Yeah- exactly! PSI is ridiculous anyway- to have it in Scav would be sillier than a mouse in a miniskirt |

This might not belong here, but it is a question. Is there anything that attracts mutants to your gang? I had only seen one mutant during recruitment, and that was some time ago. I have recruited 3 in the last week! What have I done?

Recruiting in towns where there are lots of mutants (firelight and shanty) and being aligned to the mutants faction I think.if you haven't been doing these things it's just chance I suppose. |
