Hopefully it makes enough to pay for what it cost. They spent more money on this one than the 3 others COMBINED. Historicly, the more they spent on the Mad Max movies, the less the movie itself made compared to the cheaper made ones.

When does it come out?

May 15th in the U.S., Crispin. I'm looking forward to it. :cyclops:

I am ashamed to say that my hopes are high for this one (ashamed, because those hopes are, let's face it, likely to be dashed.)

Still, that trailer- it really does look and feel like Road Warrior, doesn't it?

Is it meant to be set after Thunderdome, or is it being squeezed earlier into the timeline?

From what I am able to gather from poking around online, is that it is both a reboot, and that it happens after Thunderdome.

Still stoked!

5/1 Avengers 2 : Age of Ultron

5/15 Mad Max - Fury Road

May is going to be a great month for flicks.

And now there is a gameplay trailer for what looks like a pretty freakin' cool game!

Mad Max Fury Road - The Game

It's been a very long time since I've wanted to play anything other than DW!

Game preview has been out for over a year, I p[osted about it when it came out. Gas is plentiful, scrap is currency, and the gameplay looks to be average console system button smashing with poorly executed hand to hand combat.

It's SEGA so it's going to be arcadish

"On YouTube it clearly says that the trailer" was posted 4/23/2015. That is not a year ago and a lot can change in a year.

My 1st impressions were that it looked like a role playing game ala Fallout but much faster paced with a ton of action built in. I did see a skill tree of sorts in the video and you can clearly work to improve your car, your Magnum Opus?

The game looks just like the movie trailers, so that is a huge plus to me.

Going to go watch the movie trailer a couple more times, just can't get enough!

Edit - "      " It needed to be reworded. :)

Sorry, I was incorrect. I posted the info about the movie, not the game link, but seen the game preview same day. Aug 10 2014. So yeah, I'm sorry it was only 8 and a half months ago, not a full 12 months.

Here is the final trailer. Great stuff!

I'll go watch Age of Ultron this weekend, but it is Mad Max : Fury Road I am stoked the most for!

Saw it last night... it's awesome.

Let's see, what can I say without giving spoilers...

Great vehicles, great characters, great action, and the whole thing is just visually amazing. Definitely a reboot, and I would say that it essentially replaces the events of Road Warrior and Thunderdome. Any Mad Max fan should love this film IMO.

More good news: George Miller said that if this film does well, he has "two more stories to tell," one of which already exists in script form, and Tom Hardy is already signed on for "four more" Mad Max films.

Gah, I was about to avoid it, until I saw the 3D trailer at theater last week and dropped my lower jaw.
If you confirm the scenes we were displayed are not the best part of the movie, I really need to watch it!. :cyclops:

Before I saw it, I was worried that the trailers gave away too much... but the stuff in the trailers is all from the first HALF of the movie! It's a wild ride.

My favorite characters were Nuxx and The Bullet Farmer. :)

PS. If anyone is worried about bringing a date... confirmed, no rapes in the movie.

I saw it in 3D last night. It is F'in Awesome!

I sat back and just soaked in every visual and every sound. Great stunts and action. Very few places where it slows down to give you a chance to catch your breath. Just awesome, endless, car carnage and violence.

Mad Max : Fury Road reminded me an awful lot of a typical DW supply run from BL to camp, lol.

I loved it and recommend that everyone go out and see this awesome flick!

I thought it was Ok. Id wait for it to come out on DVD. I'm a huge fan of the first three. Maybe just too commercialized for me.

Totally unrealistic!! When that truck exploded, it should have wiped out a few dozen surrounding vehicles... just ask BigS.... :)

The first two you could make a connection to reality giving them a haunting quality, the next two are just stupid, fanciful rubbish, suspending any belief in the stratosphere.

Yeah, but keep that music truck away from BigSpenner. Not only would he blow up the rest of his gang, but he'd probably bust all our ear drums in the process!

Mad Max isn't supposed to be realistic. I love it for the action and the cars. The cars man! That music truck is going to make a sweet addition to my Orks 40K army.

There was also Chrome. Who doesn't need more shinny Chrome?

B) I've followed this movie for the last ten years and it finally made it to the big screen. It's not what I imagined a good story would be, and that's probably a good thing. George Miller has come a long way from the shoe string budget he had for the first Mad Max in 1979. With a huge budget he revved up story telling to a whole new level.
I have to say a sat through the film speechless because I didn't want to miss anything if I looked away. I've seen it in 2D and 3D and can't wait to see it at the drive in.
It looks like it's going to do well enough that Warner Brothers will let Miller make a few more. Rumors of Mad Max The Wasteland are already in the air as well as a Furiosa back story film.

I went to this movie wanting to love it – what more could I ask for than DW/Mad Max – party time!!

And don’t get me wrong it’s a fun film – spikey cars, mad bike stunts, over the top custom jobs, great battle scenes, everything you would want from a film for DW. Even trying to figure out how I could make some skins for DW based on the stuff from the film

But I left the cinema feeling just a bit disappointed, and I can’t quite put my finger on why??? Something just didn’t sit right for me

Won’t be rushing out to buy the DvD – sure I’ll watch again when it comes on telly and will thoroughly enjoy it.

But - there’s always a but whenever I talk about this film………………

Was it because it's a cross between Transformers and The Polar Express? (One viewers review sent into Mark Kermode.... Made me chuckle)

Went to the theatre with my wife yesterday evening. The film was in 3D. I had a total blast during the movie and can't way to watch it again, though I'm about sure I would be disappointed with a 2D version.
This is going to be my new Mad Max reference.

Going back to the theatre tomorrow to watch it again in 3D. Take note of that, it is extremely rare I go twice in a theatre to watch a movie. Happened only once, 30 years ago.
Going with the kid, older boy of the tribe, 12.5 years old.

Great movie. Saw it twice. Love the practical effects. Love the rich backstory and how it developed without exposition. Apparently there was a backstory for each major character. Nobody films chaos like Miller.
