Keith "Dangle" Dingle, chief Hooligan of the Shankill Butchers, pops into the Morgan Inn, brushing off the drifting snow from his shoulders.

"Howdy, gents. I've been eyeing that piece of land over there between the Inn and the Market, and I think, if we pooled our meager resources together, we could probably construct some kind of make-shift Hospital there, to help treat the wounded who have been suffering after these endless raids. No sense losing good people due to a simple lack of qualified medical care. Heck, our camp sawbones barely has enough staples left to re-attach a toe right now. With a proper facility, we'd be able to patch our guys up right, and may not have to bury as many. What do you think?

OOC: I have approached Sam, and he has agreed to the construction of a "Community Hospital" in Morgan.

The initial construction price would be DW$ 4 million, with a weekly upkeep cost of $100K (all in DW$, no Chrome required).

I know that a lot of the regular Morgan defenders are behind the idea, so I'd just like to get your opinions on Costs, and see if it's do-able.

The 100K per week would be paid by the Mayor, which we would all be pitching in for, of course.

Thoughts? Should we try to talk Sam down, or just tell him we're eager enough for the Hospital that we'll pay what he's asking?

Tobias, the Barkeep at the Inn, rushed over to the Mayor's office with a letter in hand. Opening the door quickly... "Mayor!, he shouted, "You got to read this!"

The Mayor takes the the letter and begins to read. "Oh man... this is great news!!" Tobias looks at the Mayor and pauses... then asks, "Where are we going to get that kind of money up here?!?"

"Tobias , my good man, you go down to the bar and brings us back up a bottle. While you are down there, tell that messenger to get our reply back to the Man. Tell him our Boss says that we got all the money and we want construction started as soon as he can get a crew up here!"

"No longer will our wounded brothers lay around suffering from defending this town from pirates". Tobias interrupts, " But Mayor... 4 Million!!! "Tobais", the Mayor says in a stern voice, "That hospital will be worth every damn penny!!"

"As for the upkeep, ::chuckles::, we will just take that out of the hides of a few extra pirate squads that dare to roam these parts!"

After a surprisingly brief discussion with the Mayor and a few of the regular Defenders, Keith 'Dangle' Dingle takes the floor once more, and makes the following announcement:

"Well....it's pretty clear that a Hospital is desperately needed here, and everyone seems to be very much on board to make it happen. I can't see any logical reason NOT to do it, and haven't heard a single word of objection about it from the town's folk, so I will send word to the crews to begin hauling construction materials up the hill."

"This town has gone from a remote, nearly-abandoned outpost, to a fairly thriving community in a short time....despite the constant raids by the local scavengers. This is the next step, in my opinion, and it will help us all out tremendously."

"Mr. Mayor.....ladies and gentlemen.....let's do this!"

"Gents, we are approved to begin construction on the hospital in Morgan. We're just waiting for the transfer of funds, and then we can break ground."

OOC: Sam is supposed to have PM'd the X-Man to make sure everything is copacetic, and after that we can get the hospital built.

The $100K per week maintenance fee will require cooperation from the defenders, so the Mayor doesn't have to bear the burden alone. $10K a week from the rest of us should more than pay for it. We'll just need to keep in contact with X to find out where we stand each week, and how much we need to pitch in.
