This patch has added three sets of gates to the Somerset Mine Arena. Passing through a set of gates scores you 500 points. You cannot continually pass through the same set of gates, of course, but you could keep moving between just two of them.
The gates are situated in the most dangerous area, naturally. I'm also considering having a random scatter of crates in arena combats, and you'll score points by destroying them.. any opinions on that? |

yes , it is an improvment defo.
League combat is one dimensional and this will really help. I think the gates are about 5-6 symphony lengths wide , this is way to big - Max should be 4 maybe even 3 wide - no challenge otherwise. A blaster scores 694 points a round with an MG therefore 500 a for gates is insufficient. I know you would be avoiding combat AND scoring but fighters really rack up the score and it can easily become unattainable because there is no one left to shot at the end when you are fresh and full of bullets..... I have not got the answer, but 2 ideas are - 500 for first , 1000 for second and 1500 for third then back to 500 a gate. Or a one time doubling of your final score if you get all three gates ! this is simple and set a onus on drivers to do both in speedy balance of shooting and getting gates ? Shoot these down plz COCO |

Crates would be excellent - can we have a ram car to go in arena combats, so we can ram the crates like a cop movie. Exploding barrels might be fun as well. |

Thanks for the comments.. I have just modified it so that the first gate you pass thru gets you 400 points, the next gets you 800, the next gets you 1200, and all after that get you 1600. |

The scoring system seems ok but I think the locations of the gates need a bit more tweaking...
I've only played somerset arena so I'll comment on that: The cliffside gate has too bumpy terrain on it to be worth using, also it's narrow compared to the others, which are a bit too close together and the gate closest to the blue team start isn't that much of an heated combat zone usually. Also one of the gates being at the red team start might give a bit of an advantage to there... It might be better if there was a narrow gate near the buildings and the cliff gate was a bit more towards the windmill on less bumpy terrain. There's probably more to take under consideration regarding the positions, but this is all I have right now. |
