Vikking:

Fabulous! The web-format with previous and next buttons you have decided on works great. Are they OK hosted where they are, or do you need some space on the DW server for them?

As I said to you in an email, I think the approach taken by the 2000AD comic works very well: in each cartoon, you can put a little bit of game background/history/geography. Often this might be information that already in an earlier cartoon, perhaps stated in a different way. What you have on page 3 is great..

A suggestion for page 9: maybe you can tell us what injury Phyllis Johnson received? This helps to show some of the complexity of the game, as well as being good in the story? The same thing perhaps a bit later in the story when the big collision between Vincent Andrews and Douglas Champ?

Just some typos:

Page 2: "they do are part of" should be "they are part of"
Page 3: "league races are siimple"
page 5: "definitvely" should be "definitively"
page 6: "shortways no always easy" should be "shortways not always easy"
page 9: "none is resigning" should be "none are resigning"
page 11: "the curve needs to get well negotiated" should be "the curve needs to be well negotiated"

Well done getting all those screen shots by the way..!

I'll fix that later in the day.

No problem for hosting the files there, we'll talk about that once issue 200 will be out... B)

Honestly, none of them have been injured that way, it was to add some drama effects into the story...  ;)
But I won't miss to put details in the next issue that will focuse on Deathraces or Arenas, I don't know yet.

ah.. sweet!  :-)

I have just spent some time overhauling the over-car messages rendering system by the way. You may have noticed that this text (the red damage and injury text) can get quite confused and written on top of each other. That will be fixed in the next update. This might make the cartoons easier to get screencaps for..

Good to hear.
One suggestion: could we have car and characters damages/wounds in different colors?

Good idea! In fact I'll also make a 3rd colour which relates to non-damage messages (e.g. "Antonio Martin takes over driving from Rodney Howe").

Good to hear so much positive return from this stuff.

To anyone playing Darkwind, be warned that you may be caught in unpleasant situation and be exposed to internet!

Cameras are everywhere.

@Sam: 3 colours is even better!

@Toe: several years of photography does help, even in 3D games.
