Can't remember if I mentioned it, but I have a landrunner I'm happy to lend out to anyone who needs a vehicle for the town defence. Who knows, you might even loot something worth scouting in!

We'll take our choice of the nuns though

Its still there, twin Hgats, side gats... No motor, full armour. Evan has fancy Pirate paint job.

I'll take offers if needed.

also have a vamp and sunny in town

Actually, can I move these last few posts to the Morgan RP thread or Market thread? Keep these Game related Notices free of our mumbo jumbo. Maybe a link with description pointing that way.

First defense of Morgan this weekend was successful (unless you were Tez in which case too much blood and too many tears were spilt).

Had a 150 skilled gunner shooting at a car 14 meters away with a full purple bar and missed several times. That's enough Morgan for me! I don't mind two on one odds with crap cars; it's supposed to be hard, and I get that. But if you aren't allowed to shoot at the bad guys, there really is no point.

Oh man, a list of excuses for not being good enough to defend Morgan  ;)

Admittedly it is too hard but whenever I point anything out that is like this I am told to suck it up and enjoy the pain. Just sayin'  B)

Well, it is a serious challenge, and you definitely have to have a masochistic frame of mind to keep doing the defenses...because yep, it's borderline equipment against 2-1 odd, and the enemy seldom misses. (unlike your gangers...)

But I'm hooked.
Already got a new Landy for next weeks defense!

I watched the event you guys lost and you were doing pretty good for most of the event, but you were simply outgunned due to how you fought.

Suggestions.

1-Bring a good scout to try and get a good roll to lessen the CR you face and spawn distance.

2-Heavy hitters should always have rear facing weapons, especially when you regularly face 2-1 odds. when fired they give you a boost in accel to keep ahead of the AI and slow them down, breaking them up into smaller groups.

3-Rolling engagement with rear firing weapons leaves you room to use the terrain against the AI and take cover if things are going bad.

SS tactics won't work in Morgan, rear firing is one of the main tactics to winning down south. Sitting on a hill with front firing weapons while engaging twice your odds in mostly open terrain is a sure way to get killed or take a loss.

I've tried using rear-firing weapons. With Broadsword, the SUV from that event, in another Morgan defense. Result: 0/12 rocket hits at close range, destroyed rear armor, destroyed weapons. Both gunners were over 50, one was over 100.

Sam, is there an accuracy detriment on the Gates of Morgan map? Sure seems like it.

I'm certainly downsizing my equipment for next time, to give my scout the best possible roll. Maybe a Windsor 2 with a CC or dual MMGs?

In my opinion a character under 100 skill, unless they are cross trained just won't cut it. Morgan is a veteran town and you'll be facing semi skilled gangs that bring mostly rocket boats. In that event they were firing lots of rockets out to 100m and if you can't match them, you will be on the losing end.

Keep in mind your characters stress goes up when outgunned, proximity to the enemy, being fired at and being hit. This will affect your ability to return fire and hit. This is prob one of the reasons you miss even at close range.

You could try a windsor, but you'll trade a possible better scout roll for less armor, weaker weapons and possibly less reloads. Considering how much you need to demo, having reloads in the events is very important.

A CC, if  in the hands of a skill 50 HG'r is nearly useless in my opinion considering the situation you'll be facing. The Dual MMG windsor is better in my opinion, it gives better range to engage sooner and you should be able to carry the extra reloads needed for a long firefight.

Considering the equipment you have can be stolen, I'd go with a HMG/MMG combo with extra reloads that gives you hitting power and some range. You could go RL/MMG as well for better range, but you'll need to reload sooner. I'd avoid a HMG/RL combo as the recoil can mess you up and you'd have little room for reloads.

12.15.12

I might be able to make the next attack at 20:00 server time today, but it'll be with the same vehicle and crew. Not the best rig, but it's better than a golf cart carrying a rubber band gun.

I moved my crew here for the upcoming COE events in town, so I'll be doing my best to help defend the town until those are over with (12.23).

Went to check on my vehicle, make sure it was crewed, and BAM...lost power.

The snow has finally started, and it's coming down good. Power keeps flickering or going out, net is flakey, starting to suck.

Isnt a Whe-Red-Yago a commie subcompact powered by a squirrel?

And that was santa's evil cousin, Snata Claws.  Him and Rudolpho (the red), Guido, and Sal Monella were out trying to find that paper tooth monster so they could go firebomb Santa's flat.
