This patch adds a bunch of new 3D models, terrain textures and other goodies used by 4 new maps from Bastille. Thanks Bast!
*Bastille* Posted Jun 1, 2012, 10:33 am |
a pleasure.
120 objects to download... Sam had to do a lot of work for these lot guys, and he had to put up with me putting everything backwards and upside down on the map in some mad serendipic apocyclasm... a huge thanks to sam is in order.... Thanks sam |

OK, the missions are all patched in on the server and database..
East of Shantyville, and before you reach the oilfields of Texan, you will cross the Great Southern Desert: Somewhere between Elmsfield and Somerset, a region ravaged by sandstorms is called the Neverplains: Directly south of Gateway, before the Northern Desert makes way to the poisoned Badlands, lies a region called the Outback of Nowhere: As you cross the Western Mountains between Morgan and Gateway, you will have to survive the Road to Morgan: |

This patch is not playing well with me. I seem to have downloaded it, but I keep getting the message that it is an old version.
Anyone else having this issue? |
||||||||
*sam* Posted Jun 1, 2012, 4:31 pm |
Are you running the patcher 'as administrator' ?
JS Posted Jun 1, 2012, 4:42 pm |
Sorted, stupid firewall changed setting somehow which is a bit concerning in itself.

Holy cow. Nice work, Bast. (note my gift for understatement )
Now if I could just find Bantonville. |
||||||||
Serephe Posted Jun 1, 2012, 7:09 pm |
I still want to build a camp ~50 miles from GW called Bantonville, and produce nothing but symphonies, pickups and phoenixes.
If only we could produce the cars the pirates use. |

Ok.. It's not just me...
At least I'm not alone in my misery Any eta on a fix? |
||||||||
Alec Burke Posted Jun 2, 2012, 12:41 am |
I don't know if it is really related to the patch. Everything seemed to be working fine for most of the day for me after loading the patch this morning.
Looking at the client, it seems to have started about 2 hours ago. At least that is when the wave of login/quit seems to have started. |

*JD_Basher* jd.basher@charter.net Posted Jun 2, 2012, 1:13 am |
I have texted Sam about this issue but it is 2 in the morning where he lives so the fix may not be immediate.....
*Bastille* Posted Jun 2, 2012, 1:39 am |
{LOL, I think I messed up there somewhere. edited your post rather than quoted it, I was wondering why the quote marks were not there at the time } |

*Bastille* Posted Jun 2, 2012, 1:42 am |
What, server down again? Maybe we're getting the upgrade sam was talking about.
*viKKing* Posted Jun 2, 2012, 4:42 am |
Problem experienced and confirmed.
Lord Foul Posted Jun 2, 2012, 5:03 am |
Crap, server down again during my normal playtime...arrgggg.
Bast, what did you do.lol |
||||||||
*Bastille* Posted Jun 2, 2012, 6:34 am |
Sorry for any issues guys. Dev Team has been notified and hopefully everything will be running again ASAP. Im sure any dramas involving squads in transit, making deadlines etc, can be fixed up, so don't worry, everything will be fine.... Whats this button do?
click - BOOM! |
||||||||
*sam* Posted Jun 2, 2012, 9:17 am |
Sorry guys, should be fine now. There were 20 or 25 copies of the Road to Morgan map all stuck in infinite loops
Copied from the other thread:

||||||||
*Bastille* Posted Jun 2, 2012, 9:39 am |
ahh, thats what I did Longo Sorry about that everyone, thats my bad. (and a big bad too) Sorry sam. |
||||||||
*sam* Posted Jun 2, 2012, 10:48 am |
My fault more than yours, I'm supposed to be the quality control!
Serephe Posted Jun 2, 2012, 10:50 am |
Now now, you're both equally to blame.
*DoubleTap* Posted Jun 2, 2012, 12:56 pm |
Agreed, but I'm still blaming Bast and exonerating Sam utterly. |
||||||||
*Bastille* Posted Jun 2, 2012, 1:00 pm |
Thats righ... wait... hang on

LOVE outback of nowhere.LOVE outback of nowhere.
LOVE outback of nowhere.LOVE outback of nowhere. LOVE outback of nowhere.LOVE outback of nowhere. One thing: Please give the trees durability. They are cannon and laser proof at the moment. see S465847 Custom Iron Scalp Hunters -vs- The Fraternal Order Outback of Nowhere |
||||||||
*Bastille* Posted Jun 3, 2012, 1:02 am |
I think thats kinda cool really. I always found the dead trees broke too easy. And the Fir Trees at Morgan die pretty quick too.
Glad you like that one (I wanted to try make white lines, but looked dodgy as) |
||||||||
*Tango* Posted Jun 3, 2012, 2:51 am |
ahh it just kinda takes me out of the moment to see it happen.
*Bastille* Posted Jun 5, 2012, 12:09 am |
Remember that anyone waiting on stuff to be sorted after the Road to Morgan woops, just a bit of patience guys. Sam will get to everything as soon as he can.
*Longo* Posted Jun 5, 2012, 5:29 am |
Just had my first bite of Outback of Nowhere. Man, glad I wasn't driving a lorry thru there! I had 2 5LV12 Ospreys taxi-ing some Doods. The "best taxi car in the game" spun its wheels quite a bit thru there. I see trouble with Buzzers, Apaches, FTs, Lorries here bigtime! Oh, and of course the Merc hates sand too! Nice job Bast!
*Bastille* Posted Jun 5, 2012, 5:53 am |
oh really, is the sand more slippery there than the SS roads? I have not managed to drive through there yet. I was actually hoping that the sand here, combined with the other textures, would make for a grippy surface.
Thanks for that feedback Longo. |
||||||||
*Longo* Posted Jun 5, 2012, 6:57 am |
I seemed to get "stuck" a few times, it wasnt slippery really. Kinda hard to get traction to get going after I got stopped in the sand. Thanks god for the V12 |
