The tweaks and fixes in this patch include:
* The effect of the jumpstart specialism has been downgraded with big engines, and boosted with small engines (generally, it?s a nerf though) * The rapid reloading specialism has been made more effective * A bug in the looting system has been fixed (it happened if you grabbed 2 items in quick succession: your client would think it was accepted but the server wouldn?t, and it could lead to some strange results as they went out-of-sync). * CTRL-G now shows all ghost vehicles and all of your own vehicles? targeting lines (for your visible vehicles) * When you right-click an enemy vehicle and have at least two weapons targeting it, you?ll see new options which let you assign firing orders quicker: ?Fire All Targeted Weapons?, ?Repeat Fire All Targeted Weapons? and ?Stop Firing All Targeted Weapons? * Improved boxvan and ambulance models. Hopefully they will be ok now, there was some weirdness going on with their setup.. using the 3dstudio-to-torque exporter is a bit of a black art. * Fixed the crash when you try to take a screenshot while running windowed at maximum size in Windows There's some map tweaks, and a new map, and a few new vehicles to add also, but I didn't have the energy to get them in along with the stuff above. I'll patch them later, or tomorrow. |

It's always good to have less chance of anything going wrong when looting, but looting takes a lot longer now unfortunatley (Maybe some kind of "autoloot" option to loot ammo/tires faste once everyone has taken what they need)
I've had time to test those out and they've worked great for me, the extra ghost cars even help quite a bit in normal races. ![]() The only small gripe is that with CTRL-G enabled it'd be less confusing if the active ghost was a different color since I've found myself trying to steer the wrong car several times now, but it might just be because I'm too used to seeing only one ghost on the screen... |

Love the "Fire all targetted weapons", but not sure if I found a bug, or if I'm on drugs.
If you have a car already firing on an enemy vehicle, and you have a second car target it, then select "Fire all targetted weapons", can the second car skip the "Targetting turn" and fire right away? I thought I saw this happen, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyone experience this? |

Actually no, you need to target, end of turn, then fire, and at the end of the turn, it fires...
Or there is the 'Losing Target', when you flip or drift... If the car was in Repeat Fire mode, when it 'Refound Target', It opens fire immediatly... I hope I was clear ![]() |

Somewhat related.
If you have a weapon repeat fire and then 'unassign gunner', the weapon will keep firing. Shouldn't this automatically 'stop firing' |

Just one thing bothering me, could the show ghosts be related to your own and squad/alliance only.
I think it's some kind of cheating to have ghost cars from other gangs shown. |
||||
Kelaparan Posted Aug 31, 2007, 9:38 pm |
Hmm I had a similar thought about this and sided with the "do not show other gang's ghost" initially. But you can justify the ability to see other car's ghosts since the ghost is a prediction based upon your driver's skill level after all - so he's kinda of guessing that's where the enemy car will be based on the last movement. I think it is perfectly appropriate for that information to be displayed in game. EDIT: Actually what is a problem is what Jansan mentioned regarding the targeting and firing all weapons commands. Currently you can target a weapon and fire in the next round if you have another of your cars already targeting the object. i.e. you target the vehicle, and then you issue "fire all targeted weapons" from another of your vehicles that has previously targeted the round before. Hope that makes sense; too much caffeine as a sleep substitute. |

Ye, sorry I didn't get around to fixing the 'fire all' bug yet. Exploit it while ye may! ![]() |
