- fixes bug that sometimes allowed broken weapons to fire
- fixed the autofire bug in deathrallies
- provided option on loading screen to ignore decals (use this if you keep crashing going into a particular event, hopefully it will help in those cases)
- hover-over obituary feature for 3D gravestones

Also I like the new yellow warning circle when positioning cars. Nice touch.

These "3d gravestones..." does this mean that whenever a character dies, a gravestone is erected on that spot on that map? This is realy cool. How do you set the obituary text?

Yeah, I forgot to mention the yellow circle.

The 3D gravestones are not available for every death, no. This would clutter up the maps and increase load times.

Gravestones are manually positioned, by me, for a fee. They're intended to be prestige items for your top characters only (and are only available to hall-of-fame characters).

I would prefer to keep a 'public graveyard' on each map, containing all graves for that map, in order to stop clutter. You can however request your own gang-only graveyard on a map.

Obituary texts are PMd directly to me.

There's a link to this stuff from your hall of fame characters.

Right on Sam! Stick it to the man!

Also, I love when something I suggest gets added. :) It makes me feel warm and fuzzy, like I mean something in this crazy world! YAY!

Gordon Freeman and Arnold Schwartz are so getting their own grave stones when they die.

Oh wow I've never noticed the "Hall of Fame" before! I even have some people there. And I've seen tombstones on some maps, but never realized what they represented, I just thought they were part of the scenery. Hmm. I'll have to decide if it's worth the expense.

Can we put them in the SS arena?

Up in the nose bleeds perhaps(edge of crater or something?)

Hmm I think that would be too intrusive. Gonna have to keep arena ones outside the arena.

The native linux client is ver 131 still. I fear for my stability. Any chance of a new build? (maybe with keycodes looked at so i needn't worry about accidentally hitting shift and making the world go all topsy turvy?)

Chainsaws are one thing, but what's cooler would be chainsaw launchers. That's right. Chainsaw launchers.

Another new undocumented feature I noticed is that on the vehicle info screen it will tell you exactly how many miles the vehicle will get out of its current loadout and on-board fuel. Nice feature.

Yes!  It is working great for me.  I've been using it exclusively for a few days now.  Only real issue is that modifier keys (shift, alt, ctrl, capslock, etc) are having thier keycodes mangled and doing odd things.  I wrote my experiences in the Linux forum.

Runing ArchLinux on an ASUS 1015pem netbook.

Would be awesome if there was a way you could get to a map that was just an open field with a road, and along side it were nameless gravestones. Would be a way to see personally how many people made the hall of fame. No events would be on it, just a road surrounded by 1 gravestone per person currently on the hall of fame.

+1 This would be a good Sandbox for testing out builds. Incorporate it into DW:Tactical maybe?

Nice idea Urban.. could be synced with the Hall of Fame database easily enough too..
FireFly

Posted Jan 17, 2011, 10:56 am
I have to ask, could it be synced with the names to, that would just be amazing, in other words, every time one gets added it gets names after the last death? :)

To bad we already have a map called "Dead Mans Road", dont we?

Yeah, whatever data is in the Hall of Fame on the web is readily available. The main issue would be keeping the download phase manageable, since there's a lot of graves. Maybe make the graves into client-side objects only (the same way flags are done)..

There would need to be some way of organising them too, otherwise you'd never find what you were looking for

While on the subject, you really need to be able to find individual gangs on the hall of fame.

It takes over 20 minutes of clicking to get to goats gang, for example ;)

(Would it be possible to use sectionalize them by gang, and then have them in the order of death?)

Perhaps chronologically based on time of death? That way you could use the Hall of fame as a reference?

Best thing is add a personal Hall of Fame within each gang page (I know this was suggested several times before). I'll see if I can get that done today..
