I know this has been brought up in other threads, but thought it would be nice to have one thread where people could input their suggestions on this.

Basically, the idea is that players could create footsquads manually from the squad page, instead of having to lose a scout to have a footsquad encounter.

Some Ideas:
Food As Fuel
Perhaps we can use food rations as a kind of 'fuel' for the footsquad; determining how far the squad can travel. So, lets say a squad without any food rations could go out to a max distance of 5 miles, but a 3-person squad where one person is carrying 6 units of food rations could travel 15 miles out.

Staying Out For Extended Periods
After you win the footsquad encounter, maybe you could have the option of returning to town or staying out in the field, depending on their food reserves.

Of course if they stay, they will incur more radiation sickness.

If animals could be looted for food, the squad could stay outside town, only limited by the amount of radiation sickness they would get.

Create a footsquad is easy. Go scouting. Load up car with peds, start encounter and resign turn one. Taaadaaahhh, Instant footquad!!

Save your looted junk mobile that costs you nothing. Point being made is there is a way to do foot squads if you really want to do them and at zero cost. This can also benefit players by getting in extra, lower risk, handgun training.

I've spent more in repairs than I get for some loot cars. I'll try that out.

Just remember you can strip the loot chassis to sell weapons, tires, engines to make some cash. All you need is a chassis to put your peds in, doesn't even have to run. Just ignore the warning at the scout start screen that car is missing... blah blah blah items.

You do have to have an engine. I tried scouting without one, and it wouldn't let me.

I did loot another car with a 0% engine, and was able to scout with that one.

The risk with that X is that if you meet slavers in your junker and hit resign you don't end up with a foot squad... you end up in the pit

That is true. But Parapsyscho was wanting a way to get more ped action. A trip to The Pit would do the trick as well. ;)

I would like to see a scout type added where you make a foot squad and meet either animals, other Peds or a small beat up car. Would be a much better start to scavenging.

Animals give meds, Peds drop hand guns, the car is a car
