Groove Champion Posted Jun 20, 2010, 1:54 am	Since we can submit Custom Skins, would it be possible to submit a custom portrait to go with it?

Groove Champion Posted Jun 20, 2010, 2:32 pm	Gunthor's portraits. His work is excellent, but it no longer matches up with the custom skin I submitted. We already have to submit a "swatch" with our custom vehicle skins: I imagine we could do something similar for custom skins and the portrait? Anyway, I have my custom portrait ready for when this is added

Groove Champion Posted Jun 21, 2010, 5:37 pm	Besides the in-game vehicle manager and the website interface, I don't think the portraits show up anywhere else. I don't think having the proper portrait show up for another player borrowing a ganger is necessary... It would be a bit more polished, but entirely secondary in importance.

*sam* Posted Jun 24, 2010, 7:37 pm	Borrowing other players' characters wouldn't cause any problem, the portraits would 'dynamically patch' as needed the same as car skins. However.. would they be awkward to produce? - they need be png files with a transparent background in order to let the health bar show thru from behind when used in the car GUI. (If you look in-game you'll see what I mean.. the healthbar is behind the character's left shoulder and would be invisible if the mugshot wasn't made with transparency).
Djihani Posted Jun 24, 2010, 7:55 pm	In any case where you cant download or dont really need to you could have a "CUSTOM SKIN" standard stand in icon with a blacked out guy and a question mark or something. move the heatlh bar to the front or just leave instructions for transparency... someone will post a quide to making them pics all right.

I managed to do this with my original logo, not sure how i did though as the 2nd one I made has a black background and isn't transparent. If I find out, Ill make a post.
Ganthor Posted Jun 25, 2010, 2:56 am	anyone with photoshop could do a png easy, I was thinking perhaps we could come up with some way to see other character's faces in the middle of combat (possibly starfox style?) but that depends on what direction the game develops. also I can whip up a silhouette right now.

The one provided would only work for the small pic, and not for the web, shoulda started big, and then made small I guess (?)... doh! Groove Champion Posted Jun 25, 2010, 2:35 pm	I couldn't wait for this thread to bear fruit so I went ahead and replaced the portrait files in my DW file. I must say ped combat and on-foot escapes are much less frightening when you don't see your health bar!
