why cant i join a live event? i have downloaded the most recent java opened the java thing, let it download all 92 updates and then i started DW. i logged in and tried to go to driving school. it said "connection timed out" or something along the lines of that. i though "well maybe its just bad luck" so i quit and opened it again. still i get the message and i cant figure it out =( plz help me

The first one you posted looks like - maybe - you unzipped the archive wrong.
The 2nd one was running correctly, for sure.. and you failed to connect? event>Server:82.195.156.63:28004^1 is the line where you tried to connect to the gameserver. |

i didnt unzip the file the first time. maybe something went wrong? but i deleted and redownloaded from all 3 mirrors at least twice and still nothing. i also downloaded the .zip file and deleted at least one time from mirror 1
and yes the second time my connection still timed out. |

It could be your firewall.. are you sure that you have ports 28000-28009 unblocked? Better still, take it up to 28030. | ||||

thanks sam and db for helping me. i fixed it now and i am now able to play. yay for me eh? lol
it was my firewall. i didnt realize that i did in fact have 2 firewalls and i was only disabling one. so i disabled the other on and voila it works |

If you want to keep your firewall settings as tight as possible then restrict to UDP only and the IP address of the Darkwind server. | ||||

I don't think it will work if you have TCP disabled on the Darkwind ports. |
