I have been collecting data for the last 2 months or so on the number of times that each stock vehicle + racetrack combination have been played, and how many times their events have been deleted due to no human entries.

I have just added code which will assess this data once per week and will slowly modify the commonness of the vehcle/track choices based on it.

So you should start to see the more popular combos coming up more, and the less popular ones less.

This sounds like a really cool idea. Is it essentially time randomized? IE the choice is a preference of track/car and not time of day/week?

Event times aren't used in this, no.

Basically, what I did up until now was manually define how common each vehicle type should be, and have manually tweaked it from time to time -- but from now on the commonness values will slowly change to reflect actual player preferences, without need for my intervention.

Is this a good time to pimp my list of deathracers in the vehicle suggestions thread? ;)

Woah, nice set of suggestions! I hadn't actually seen it before. Yeah, I'll spend a bit of time today adding a few new vehicles.

OK, just added a bunch of new vehicles:

Hotshot II A solidly armoured version of the popular deathracing configuration
Overture Bristling with rockets, this is a mean adversary
Gypsy A rare vehicle, often used as a hybrid fighter/trader
Arbalest A tough trader vehicle, rarely seen north of Badlands
Sunset A powerful deathracing musclecar
Redskin A popular arena combat configuration
Firey Phoenix A popular deathracer with firey weapons
Nosferatu A fast and deadly deathracer
Sapphire A deadly deathracer packing ferocious frontal weaponry
Harpy A small but effective desert combat vehicle
Squire A midsize combat vehicle with rockets
Freelance A midsize vehicle that punches above its weight
Battleaxe An offroad desert fighter

FF, which config. were you referring to? We have a Hunter already, but I didn't see another suggested by you in the Suggestions thread

Oh, a scout vehicle.

Hunter-Killer, 3.2v8, CC Stormer, full front armor, good sides, I'll leave that to you :)

We need a stormer in the wild, dont make it to rare now

I hope at least one of them is based on a Mercenary chassis

Hardly ever see Mercs in events or in the desert.... yet its the most common chassis in the garages... :stare:

Stacking rare engines and rare guns on a rare chassis is a great way to ensure it'll be a very rare car to encounter.

Downgrade it to a regular 3.2L and ATG and maybe....

EDIT: I don't want you to think I'm attacking your design, but limits are placed based on how available Sam wants items to be.  As soon as you can loot it with any regularity, an item becomes common-place (eg apaches in Somerset).  I don't think they want that just yet with v8s and CCs.

Ah, I said, "Don't make it to rare", not make it common, I figure it would be gateway and beyond to say the least.

Stormers aren't the most common in the first place, but I would love to see more of them around, and no, I used that setup myself, It has to be a v8, and cannon, even if it has to be rare :)

12 of the 13 chassis are visible in custom events

Nosferatu is hellish ram-a-cide car

Harpy and overture are hellish little Rocket boxes
twin MRRs on the redskin

I (personally) dont like FFs design , but there is a 4L bullet with an ATG

How does this affect location?

There may have been track/race combos that players would have liked to play but were deleted because they did not have a character at that location. Or does this only affect SS?

As someone who races more than others, I can grow quite bored of seeing yet another race on the dirt racing track or speedway. Requesting a race (not a custom event) has major limitations as its random. I would like to request a race, but be able to request the track it is on too.

Now now, No love for high speed Cannonade Interceptors?

Those might actually be a pain in the arse, rare enough not to kill, dangerous enough to put a hole in your side ;)

You see a lot, maybe even too many, mutant mercs in BL. They got an ATG on them and tear your armour to shreds... and da vinicis, which are a pain in the arse.

Currently, all tracks have an equal chance of being used. (Well, SS have a higher chance, but within each town all tracks are equal). I could certainly extend this concept to tracks as well as vehicle configs. if it proves successful.

It seems like SS events are far more common than for other towns lately. Events on those other tracks were the main reason I grew my gang beyond SS, but I hardly ever get to run one of those now. I think there was an intended change to ensure something always available "soon" in SS, but did that reduce events in other towns too? The move of Double Down was also a factor I think.

Yes but up North, where players actually use Mercs, all you see is the very occasional Da Vinci...

...which isnt logical if pirates are using scavenged cars
