I'm just implementing mutants, who will turn up occasionally as player characters as well as in specific NPC mutant gangs.

These guys will generally have high strength and speed, often have low dex, and will always age considerably faster than 'norms'. They will be more adept at picking up psionics (which I'm working on next).

A big thank you to goat for the great work making skins for these!

Would it be reasonable to more generally say they have two good stats and one crappy one? What about the evil lizard mutants, they should have high dex and speed with crummy strength. Or the knuckle-men of Firelight valley, they should have high strength and dex, but low speed.

I'm patching them in right now. Recruiter doesn't help; they're arguably not more desirable than 'norms'; plus there will be ramifications to having 'muties' in your gang later, when I have implemented per-faction reputation.

BTW I wouldn't recommend repeated hiring-and-firing to get one of these; you'll get frustrated.

Maybe only negative rep. gangs should be able to get them??

these are all features that have been planned for years too  :cyclops:


BTW: something not previously mentioned that I decided at the last minute is that muties are more prone to developing drug addictions and more strongly affected by 46 Y-s.

Awesome stats Rezeak,

These muties are the " burn out" instead of "Fade away" type of characters. They come in swinging hard and fast, but don't last long.

FYI a gang can now have no more than 10% of its members as mutants, unless its leader is a mutant.

When per-faction reputations are implemented, this 10% figure will be higher or lower depending on your reputation with the mutant faction(s).

I recently recruited two mutants in a row. :o Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with them. (FYI, recruited both in SS)

I reckon I'll nickname her "She-Hulk" if she ever gets enough skill. Or, if Sam introduces body armor, I'll get her all armored up and call her the "Terminatrix." Too bad you can't use hammers on cars. I have yet to see how far she can throw a grenade, but I figure her range may be similar to a CGL.

I have noticed that she is quite resistant to damage. She was driving in an arena combat recently and her vehicle caught on fire. Her gunner was receiving moderate concussion hits every turn from the fire, but she was just fine.

It would also be fun to have her running around in combats flipping over cars. I figure, if you can turn a turtled car back on to its wheels, why not flip over a currently upright one? :cyclops:

Perhaps we should have some kind of log describing certain things of importance that occurred while we were offline. Things like, gangers dying due to "natural" causes, gangers leaving / becoming sick due to lack of food, items for sale in marketplaces selling... things like that.

Or maybe I should just post this under "suggestions" :)

Hey now, I never blew the leg off of anyone... er... in that race. I fired twice, cleanly killing both targets.

One guy took an ATG round to the heart, the other took a round to the face.

One handgunner was down by the time I got there, and the fourth jumped into a hazard van.

Besides, hazards aren't people B)
